John 14:1-15 | Safety First. Feeling safe. Being in a safe environment. A safe place. We hear these statements because we want to be safe. We have alarm systems, emergency personnel, and trauma one hospitals. We have friends who we trust and the comfort of our own dwelling places. Many times, at the end of life, people want to pass away in their own homes because it is safe. As Jesus is preparing to transition from earth to heaven, He is confronted with comforting His disciples. Right now, they don’t feel safe. Jesus will reassure them that, in His absence, they can feel safe and have the assurance of being safe for eternity.
