– Former RedOctane employees have established RedOctane Games, a new studio that is working on a rhythm game to be announced later in 2025!
– IGN boss John Davison is leaving the site after six years, following the latest round of Ziff Davis layoffs.
– Digital Foundry is now independent from former owners Ziff Davis.
– Nexon is using bizarre AI ads to promote its mobile game The First Descendent.
– After multiple customers were told that LGBTQ content was not allowed to be purchased with Stripe, the payment processing company has confirmed that this information does not accurately reflect their business practices.
– A great lineup of games is available on PlayStation Plus for the month of August.
– Arcade Archives Aqua Jet for PS4 and Switch, and Arcade Archives 2 Aqua Jet for PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2, are now available.

– Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection launches digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam on September 9, with a physical edition available for preorder.

– Mina the Hollower will launch on Switch 2 alongside the previously announced versions, and a limited time demo for Switch and Switch 2 is available until August 21.

– Crossover fighting game Ys vs. Trails in the Sky: Alternative Saga, which was previously scheduled for release in the west this summer, has been delayed a few months.
– Free DLC characters Evil Marian and Super Anubis are now available for Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons.
– The 7th and 8th DLC pack characters have been revealed for One Piece Pirate Warriors 4.
– Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s “Fox Hunt” multiplayer mode will launch later this fall.
– Speedrunning community RTA in Japan has revealed that Nintendo is requiring them to ask for advance permission to feature first-party Nintendo games at future events.
