In this episode of our Poetry Reading Series, African Poetry prize shortlisted poet, CHISOM OKAFOR takes us on a threefold poetic journey.
He reads his poems:
1. “In another life, I'm twenty-two, gifted and curious” (which appears in Isele Magazine, and is currently shortlisted for the Isele Poetry Prize).
2. “In the palms of night” (previously published in Brittle Paper).
3. “In light of St. John's testimony as recorded in the morning light, on the water lands of Patmos” (previously unpublished).
Chisom Okafor, Nigerian poet and clinical nutritionist, divides his time between the diet clinic of a military hospital and its college of nursing, where he teaches diet therapy and clinical nutrition. He has received nominations for the Isele Poetry Prize, Sillerman First Book Prize for African Poets, the Brunel International African Poetry Prize, Gerald Kraak Prize, the Stephen A.
