Rebecca who is also Cast in the production, as Regan, will lead us through the dystopian world of Shakespeare’s King Lear, which has been produced by the University of Adelaide Theatre Guild. This episode features interviews with Director, Brant Eustice, Cast Member, Michael Eustice (Lear) and Stage Manager, Bonnie McAllister.

Rebecca's theatre highlights include Lettice in Strathalbyn Players' Lettice & Lovage, Lizzie in UATC's Seventeen, Mrs Allonby in The Adelaide Rep's A Woman of No Importance, and Miss Blake in Red Phoenix's Blue Stockings. Her Shakespearean ventures include Audrey in As You Like It (UATG) and Lady MacBeth in Macbeth (Independent Theatre). During the last 18 months, she relished playing Queen Elizabeth in The Audience for Therry Theatre, Arkadina in The Seagull for Independent Theatre and Margo Channing in All About Eve for St Jude's Players. Her first directing venture was also with Robert Bell -- Pippin for SCASS and last year she went solo, directing Guys & Dolls for Met Musicals. You may recall the last University of Adelaide Theatre Guild production that Rebecca was an integral part of, collaborating with Robert Bell as Co-Director the TASA's Dramati-Cal Award Winning production of Ink.

Reimagined in a post-apocalyptic setting, this Shakespeare epic unfolds amidst the madness of a world in ruins.

The sting of betrayal, the tragic downfall of a kingdom... as the King descends into insanity and his daughters' ambitions spiral out of control, Adelaide's finest explore the desperation of power, excessive pride, and the collapse of civilisation.

Director Brant Eustice says, “There is enormous joy to be found in Shakespeare’s universal themes and a brilliance in his writing which not only allows, but also encourages theatregoers to continue exploring the depth, complexity and beauty of his stories in new styles. Due to a global calamity, civilisation as we view it has collapsed and has returned to the ways of a distant past. We find ourselves in a world which is slowly trying to rebuild itself.”
