In this episode, Ashley Surma is joined by a special guest — Lisa Vilella, founder of Mimi's Mission. Lisa shares how her charitable journey led her to becoming an advocate for children on the spectrum. When she saw a lack of support for kids with autism, she began a group offering resources, tools, and a community for families impacted. With 1 in 25 kids expected to be diagnosed with autism by the year 2025, Lisa shares the importance of raising awareness and bringing education to our communities.
The organization is currently rolling out a program called 911 Ready to educate first responders on how to handle people with special needs during emergency situations. Learn more about how this could be beneficial for your community in this episode.
