Weekly Football Phrase - Take a knock
This week's football expression is to take a knock which simply means that a player has received an injury. Unlike a muscle injury, such as a twist or a pull, a knock usually means an impact injury for instance when a player kicks another player's leg and this is not regarded as too serious. In this week's Champions League games Manchester United's Robin Van Persie took a knock though his manager is hoping he won't be out too long as it is just a knock. Take a knock.
