On this podcast you'll hear interviews, insights, lessons and learnings from others blazing their own path and following their spark. They'll share what helps them live their most authentic, inspired lives to hopefully inspire YOU to do the same!

Today you'll meet Alex La Pierre, co-founder of Borderlandia! I met Alex on one of his tours in Tubac, AZ and I was immediately blown away by Borderlandia's mission to create better relationships across borders in a fun, experiential and engaging way.  This episode will remind you that there's so much more to a country than what you hear in the news and the power of travel to shift perspective.

IN THIS EPISODE WE TALK ABOUT:

  • The importance of exposure to other cultures and ways of life
  • Myths about Mexico and dispelling fears
  • Understanding the role you play in building diplomacy every time you travel abroad
  • What makes the Sonoran desert on the US / Mexico border so special
  • Surprising things you might not know about Mexico

 MORE ABOUT Alex:

Alongside his wife Rocio from northern Mexico, Alex La Pierre is the co-founder of Borderlandia, a binational organization committed to building public understanding for the borderlands. His professional background includes several years in the nonprofit field advocating for social investment in Nogales NGOs, and citizen-level diplomacy in the borderlands. He originally arrived in southern Arizona working for the National Park Service in the fields of historic preservation and heritage interpretation. A graduate of the University of Arizona, an award-winning documentary filmmaker, and a public historian, Alex's studies focus on the Hispanic cultural heritage of the American Southwest and Mexico.
