Ro: Primăvara se așternea blând peste satul Săpânța.
En: Spring was gently settling over the village of Săpânța.

Ro: Vântul adia ușor printre mesteceni, iar păsările cântau neîncetat.
En: The wind was softly blowing through the birch trees, and the birds sang tirelessly.

Ro: Locul părea desprins dintr-o poveste, cu cimitirul vesel îmbrăcat în culori vii, unde fiecare mormânt avea o poveste de spus.
En: The place seemed lifted from a story, with the merry cemetery dressed in bright colors, where each grave had a story to tell.

Ro: Mihai pășea ușor printre crucile pictate, cu gândurile îndreptate spre tatăl său și spre întâlnirea cu Ana.
En: Mihai walked softly among the painted crosses, his thoughts directed toward his father and his meeting with Ana.

Ro: Mihai își dorea să se împace cu Ana, sora de care se îndepărtase cu mulți ani în urmă.
En: Mihai wanted to reconcile with Ana, the sister he had distanced himself from many years ago.

Ro: Disensiunile din trecut îi despărțiseră, iar acum, la mormântul tatălui lor, Mihai voia să schimbe asta.

Ro: Însă Ioan, vărul lor, părea să fie mereu în cale, ținând ascuns un secret de familie.

Ro: Ana sosise deja, privind în tăcere la crucea colorată a tatălui lor.

Ro: Mihai se apropie, simțindu-i privirea rece.

Ro: „Adevărul e... un pic greu”, începu el.
En: "The truth is... a bit hard," he began.

Ro: „Tatăl vostru a lăsat un testament secret.
En: "Your father left a secret will.

Ro: El a vrut ca voi să fiți împreună, să vă ajutați.
En: He wanted you to be together, to help each other.

Ro: M-a rugat să nu vă spun până când voi vedea că sunteți pregătiți să vă împăcați.”

Ro: Ana răsuflă adânc, iar Mihai simți cum povara trecutului începe să se dizolve.
