Ro: Aerul rece de iarnă a adus un vânt aspru pe Coasta Amalfi.
En: The cold winter air brought a harsh wind to the Amalfi Coast.

Ro: Ion privea panorama uimitoare de pe terasa îngustă a hotelului.
En: Ion was gazing at the stunning panorama from the narrow terrace of the hotel.

Ro: Erau culori vii peste tot: verdele măslinelor, albastrul mării, și albul zăpezii ce acoperea ușor vârfurile munților.
En: There were vibrant colors everywhere: the green of the olive trees, the blue of the sea, and the white of the snow gently covering the mountain peaks.

Ro: Urma să fie o zi de carnaval, dar și ziua nunții lor.
En: It was to be a day of carnival, but also the day of their wedding.

Ro: Ion și Mirela așteptaseră acest moment mult timp.
En: Ion and Mirela had awaited this moment for a long time.

Ro: Petre, prietenul și martorul său, se apropie de Ion.

Ro: Dintr-o dată, valuri de pământ și piatră au început să se prăvălească pe drum, despărțindu-i pe Ion de Mirela și invitații lor.
En: Suddenly, waves of earth and stone began to tumble onto the road, separating Ion from Mirela and their guests.

Ro: Ion, prins deodată de panică, simți cum vechile sale temeri revin.
En: Caught suddenly by panic, Ion felt his old fears returning.
