Lt: Saulė lėtai leidosi už horizontą, apšviesdama Kryžių kalną auksiniu švytėjimu.
En: The sun was slowly setting behind the horizon, casting a golden glow over the Hill of Crosses.

Lt: Ši vieta buvo ypatinga.
En: This place was special.

Lt: Kryžiai, mažieji ir dideli, mediniai ir metaliniai, stovėjo tarsi sargybiniai ant kalvos, saugojo paslaptis ir prašymus, kuriuos žmonės jiems patikėjo.
En: Crosses, both small and large, wooden and metal, stood like guards on the hill, keeping the secrets and requests entrusted to them by people.

Lt: Giedrius atvyko čia ankstyvą popietę.
En: Giedrius arrived early in the afternoon.

Lt: Jo tikslas - užfiksuoti idealią nuotrauką kelionių žurnalui.
En: His goal was to capture the perfect photograph for a travel magazine.

Lt: Pagaliau, saulė prasiskverbė pro debesis, sukurdama nuostabų vaizdą.
En: Finally, the sun broke through the clouds, creating a breathtaking scene.

Lt: Tai buvo jo šansas.
En: This was his chance.

Lt: Bet tuomet - katastrofa: fotoaparatas neveikė.
En: But then, disaster struck: the camera wouldn't work.

Lt: - Kas gi dabar?
En: "What now?"

Lt: - Giedrius šnibždėjo sau, nervingai spaudinėdamas mygtukus.
En: Giedrius whispered to himself, nervously pressing the buttons.

Lt: Rūta, matydama jo neviltį, draugiškai priėjo:- Giedriau, turiu atsarginį fotoaparatą.
En: Seeing his despair, Rūta approached him kindly: "Giedrius, I have a spare camera.

Lt: Gal nori pabandyti?
En: Would you like to try it?"

Lt: - pasiūlė ji droviai.
En: she offered shyly.

Lt: Giedrius niekada nemėgo skolintis įrangos.
En: Giedrius never liked borrowing equipment.

Lt: Bet šiandien nebuvo kito pasirinkimo.
En: But today, there was no other choice.

Lt: Jis giliai įkvėpė ir sutiko:- Gerai, pabandom.
En: He took a deep breath and agreed: "Alright, let's give it a try."

Lt: Saulė vis dar leidžiasi.
En: The sun was still setting.

Lt: Laikas buvo ribotas.
En: Time was limited.

Lt: Rūta pasisuko į vieną pusę, ieškodama geresnio kampo.
En: Rūta turned to one side, looking for a better angle.

Lt: Ji pridėjo Giedriui savo rankomis ir nukreipė jį idealiu žvilgsniu.
En: She guided Giedrius with her hands, directing him to the perfect view.

Lt: - Va, čia puiku!
En: "There, this is perfect!"

Lt: - tarė ji, šiek tiek švelniau, nei būtų patikėtum.
En: she said, a bit more...
