Lt: Jurgis ir Rasa stovėjo prie Kryžių kalno.
En: Jurgis and Rasa stood by the Kryžių kalnas (Hill of Crosses).

Lt: Rudens vėjas švilpė, o lapai krito ant žemės, traškėdami po kojomis.
En: The autumn wind whistled, and leaves fell to the ground, crunching underfoot.

Lt: "Ką mes čia veikiame, Jurgi?
En: "What are we doing here, Jurgi?"

Lt: " - paklausė Rasa, apžiūrėdama nesibaigiantį kryžių mišką.
En: Rasa asked, surveying the endless forest of crosses.

Lt: Jurgis pažvelgė į ją, tvirtai suspaudęs žandikaulį.
