Lt: Kęsta vėlyvo rudens diena.
En: The late autumn day lingers.

Lt: Lauko ligoninė stovi mažo Lietuvos miestelio pakraštyje.
En: The field hospital stands at the edge of a small Lithuanian town.

Lt: Auksiniai lapai sukasi vėjyje, o danguje kabo sunkūs, pilki debesys.
En: Golden leaves whirl in the wind, and heavy, gray clouds hang in the sky.

Lt: Viduje ligoninėje skamba monotoniškas aparatų pypsėjimas.
En: Inside the hospital, the monotonous beeping of machines fills the air.

Lt: Kiekvienas užsiėmęs savo darbu, tačiau tarpusavyje jaučiama įtampa.
En: Everyone is busy with their work, yet there is a palpable tension among them.

Lt: " Ji prisimena, kaip kartais vanduo namuose tekdavo rudas.
En: She recalls how sometimes the water at home would run brown.
