Lt: Vilniaus turguje niekada nebūna tylu, ypač žiemą, per Naujuosius metus.
En: The Vilnius market is never quiet, especially in winter, during New Year.

Lt: Oras šaltas, tačiau žmonių šypsenos šildo kaip vasaros saulė.
En: The air is cold, but people's smiles warm like the summer sun.

Lt: Turgus dekoruotas žibintais ir girliandomis, skleidžiančiomis šventinę nuotaiką.
En: The market is decorated with lanterns and garlands that spread a festive mood.

Lt: Grindinys pasidengęs plonu sniego sluoksniu, o Dovilė ir Jurgis vaikšto tarp prekystalių, kupini naujųjų metų laukimo.
En: The pavement is covered with a thin layer of snow, and Dovilė and Jurgis walk among the stalls, full of anticipation for the new year.

Lt: Dovilė norėjo visko paruošti tobulai ir pigiai.
En: Dovilė wanted everything to be prepared perfectly and cheaply.

Lt: Tad ji turėjo sąrašą, tikslų kaip patys metai.

Lt: „Šis bus puikus užkandis, Jurgi“, – tarė ji.
En: “This will be a great snack, Jurgis,” she said.

Lt: Tačiau Jurgis turėjo kitų planų.
En: However, Jurgis had other plans.

Lt: Jis pamatė prabangią šokolado dėžutę ir ją įsikišo į krepšį.
En: He saw a fancy box of chocolates and slipped it into the bag.

Lt: „Šventė be šokolado - ne šventė“, – linksmai prabilo.
En: “A celebration without chocolate is no celebration,” he said cheerfully.

Lt: Dovilei tai neatrodė būtina, tačiau Jurgio geros nuotaikos buvo sunku užgniaužti.
En: To Dovilė, it didn't seem necessary, but Jurgis's good mood was hard to suppress.

Lt: Jie sustojo prie vyno prekystalio, kur Jurgis džiaugėsi paragavęs raudonasis vynas.
En: They stopped at the wine stall, where Jurgis delighted in tasting red wine.

Lt: Bet jis buvo brangus ir neatitiko Dovilės biudžeto.

Lt: „Jurgi, mes turime laikytis plano“, - rimtai pasakė Dovilė.

Lt: Jurgis padarė didelę išraiškingą gestą, rodydamas aplinkiniams.

Lt: „Naujieji metai ateina tik kartą per metus.
En: “New Year comes only once a year.

Lt: Turime juos pasitikti su džiaugsmu ir gausa.“

Lt: Dovilė sustojo, žvelgdama į šokoladą ir vyną.

Lt: Ji giliai įkvėpė ir pasakė: „Gerai, galime šį kartą šiek tiek atleisti.
