Lv: Vecās Rīgas šaurās ielas spīdēja svētku gaismās.
En: The narrow streets of old Rīga glistened with festive lights.

Lv: Cilvēki smaidīja un izbauda Ziemassvētku tirdziņa garšu.
En: People smiled and enjoyed the taste of the Ziemassvētku tirdziņš (Christmas market).

Lv: Gaisā virmoja karstvīna un piparkūku smaržas.
En: The air was filled with the scents of mulled wine and gingerbread.

Lv: Māris stāvēja tirdziņā kopā ar Jāni.
En: Māris stood at the market with Jānis.

Lv: Viņi abi aizgāja līdz Lienes stendēm.
En: They both walked over to Liene's stalls.

Lv: Viņa pārdeva rotājumus, kas mirdzēja un piesaistīja acis.
