Fi: Pimeä talviyö.
En: A dark winter night.

Fi: Lumi peitti maan paksuna peittona, kun Aino astui reippaasti Lapin porotilan pihaan.
En: Snow covered the ground like a thick blanket as Aino stepped briskly into the yard of the Lapland reindeer farm.

Fi: Hän vetäisi lunta saappaillaan ja katsoi ihaillen ympärilleen.
En: She swept the snow with her boots and admired her surroundings.
