Fi: Reetta ja Juhani olivat lähteneet Lauri mukanaan pyytämään poroja Lapin kauniissa maisemissa.
En: Reetta and Juhani had set out with Lauri to herd reindeer in the beautiful landscapes of Lapland.

Fi: Lapin talvi oli armoton; taivas roikkui harmaana ja kylmä tuuli puhalsi lumihiutaleita heidän kasvoilleen.
En: The winter in Lapland was relentless; the sky hung gray, and a cold wind blew snowflakes onto their faces.
