Fi: Valkoinen talvi oli saapunut Suomen maaseudulle.
En: The white winter had arrived in the Finnish countryside.

Fi: Lumi peitti maan kuin pehmeä, puhdas peitto.
En: Snow covered the ground like a soft, clean blanket.

Fi: Joka puolella, mäntyjen oksat notkuivat lumisen taakan alla.
En: Everywhere, the branches of the pine trees bent under the snowy burden.
