Story Transcript:

Et: Vana Tallinna vanalinn nägi suvel eriliselt ilus välja.
En: The old Tallinn old town looked particularly beautiful in the summer.

En: Kert and Maarja walked over the quietly cobbled stones, feeling the gentle warmth hovering around them.

Et: Hoolimata pilvedest olid nende mõtted eredad.
En: Despite the clouds, their thoughts were bright.

En: Maarja was excited about her upcoming internship in Paris, but the thought also worried Kert.

Et: Ta teadis, et peab enne Maarja lahkumist temaga rääkima.
En: He knew he needed to talk to her before she left.

Et: Järsku hakkas vihma sadama.
En: Suddenly, it started to rain.

Et: Suured kopsakad tilgad kostsid tänavale, ujutades kiirelt kivi.
En: Large, splattering drops sounded on the street, quickly flooding the stones.

Et: Nad jooksid lähedal asuvasse kohvikusse varjule.
En: They ran into a nearby café for shelter.

En: It was small and cozy, filled with books and the aroma of coffee.

En: The café was quiet, with the music of the storm raging outside.

Et: Maarja raputas niisked juuksed kiiktoolis istet võttes.
En: Maarja shook out her damp hair as she took a seat in the rocking chair.

En: "Well," she laughed, "it seems I'm staying true to my usual adventure-seeker self."

En: Kert smiled, but nerves were tying knots in his stomach.

En: "I actually thought it might rain today," he said quietly.

Et: Maarja vaatas talle küsimusi täis silmadega.
En: Maarja looked at him with questioning eyes.

Et: "See on minu õppimise tulemus. Meteoroloogia."
En: "It's what I've learned. Meteorology."

Et: Maarja haaras tassi kohvi.
En: Maarja grabbed a cup of coffee.

En: "That's exciting! So you can tell me every day whether to bring an umbrella?"

En: Kert sighed and took a sip of his coffee, hoping to find a bit of courage.

En: "I wanted to talk about something before you leave."

Et: Maarja muutus tõsiseks, "Mis on?"
En: Maarja became serious, "What is it?"

En: In those moments, as the storm outside intensified and the café dimmed slightly, time seemed to stand still.

Et: "Maarja, me oleme olnud head sõbrad nii kaua. Ja ma hindan seda väga," alustas Kert.
En: "Maarja, we've been good friends for so long. And I value that greatly," Kert began.

En: There was concern in Maarja's eyes as he continued, "but I feel like something has been left unsaid."
