Cs: Karel stál na Karlově mostě.
En: Karel stood on the Karlův most.

Cs: Most se ztrácel v ranní mlze.
En: The bridge was disappearing into the morning mist.

Cs: Bylo ticho, jen Vltava plynula níže.
En: It was silent, only the Vltava flowed below.

Cs: Karel měl na sobě tlustý kabát a čekal na Janu.
En: Karel was wearing a thick coat and waiting for Jana.

Cs: Bylo chladno.
En: It was cold.

Cs: Oblečený ve svetru, snažil se zahřát ruce.
En: Dressed in a sweater, he tried to warm his hands.

Cs: Vedle něj byl Miloš, který se díval na vodu.
En: Beside him was Miloš, who was looking at the water.

Cs: Usmál se a pomyslel na to, jak krásná je Praha v zimě.
En: He smiled and thought about how beautiful Praha is in winter.

Cs: Jana přišla později.

Cs: "Dobře, Karle, ale nevím, jestli máme čas.
En: "Okay, Karel, but I don't know if we have time.

Cs: Musím večer pracovat.
En: I have to work this evening."

Cs: "Karel se na ni nervózně podíval.
En: Karel looked at her nervously.

Cs: "Jen chvilku.
En: "Just a moment.

Cs: Prosím, je to důležité.
En: Please, it's important."

Cs: "Miloš mlčky sledoval.
En: Miloš watched silently.

Cs: Jeho srdce bylo plné rozporů.
En: His heart was full of contradictions.

Cs: Měl rád Janu, ale také Karleho.
En: He liked Jana, but also Karel.

Cs: Dnes musel mlčet.
En: Today he had to remain silent.

Cs: Karel vzal Janu ke středu mostu.
En: Karel took Jana to the center of the bridge.

Cs: Tady to bylo místo, kde kdysi dávno strávili spolu krásný den.
En: This was the place where long ago they had spent a beautiful day together.

Cs: Bylo Valentýna a sněžilo.
En: It was Valentine's Day, and it was snowing.

Cs: Karel otevřel batoh a vytáhl termosku.
En: Karel opened his backpack and pulled out a thermos.

Cs: "Káva?
En: "Coffee?"

Cs: " zeptal se s nadějí.
En: he asked hopefully.

Cs: Jana se zasmála.
En: Jana laughed.

Cs: "Dobře, to je dobré.
En: "Okay, that's good."

Cs: "Právě ve chvíli, kdy naléval kávu do malých hrníčků, začaly z nebe padat vločky.
En: Just as he was pouring coffee into small cups, snowflakes began to fall from the sky.

Cs: Jemný, tichý sníh.
En: Gentle, silent snow.

Cs: "Podívej, Jano," řekl Karel, "vypadá to jako tehdy.
En: "Look, Jana," said Karel, "it looks like back then."

Cs: "Jana se rozhlédla po mostě.
En: Jana looked around the bridge.

Cs: Mlha a sníh vytvořily pohádkovou atmosféru.
En: The mist and snow created a fairytale atmosphere.

Cs: "Je to krásné," přiznala tiše.
En: "It's beautiful," she admitted softly.

Cs: Miloš věděl, že je to chvíle pravdy.
