Cs: V paprscích podzimního slunce, kdy listy mění svůj šat do odstínů zlaté a měděné, se Jana a Marek setkali v Botanické zahradě v Praze.
En: In the rays of the autumn sun, when the leaves change their attire to shades of gold and copper, Jana and Marek met in the Botanická zahrada in Praha.

Cs: Vzduch byl chladný a vlhký, voněl podzimem.

Cs: “Marek se chvíli díval na trnité palmy okolo.

Cs: Vyhýbal se Janinu pohledu.
En: He avoided Jana's gaze.

Cs: Pak povzdechl a řekl: „Vím, že to na tebe hodně padá.
En: Then he sighed and said, "I know it's a lot on you.

Cs: Ale víš, jak to mám s prací.
En: But you know how it is with my work.

Cs: Je to teď těžký.
En: It's tough right now."

Cs: “„Já vím.
En: "I know.

Cs: Ale i já musím pracovat,“ odpověděla Jana tiše, ale pevně.
En: But I also have to work," responded Jana quietly but firmly.

Cs: „Prostě bych chtěla, abys byl víc přítomen.
En: "I just wish you could be more present.

Cs: Rodina by měla být na prvním místě.
En: Family should come first."

Cs: “V tichém skleníku, kde ticho rušil jen jemný šum vodní fontánky, si Marek prvně uvědomil váhu situace.
