Cs: Noc v horské vesnici byla tichá, až strašidelně klidná.
En: The night in the mountain village was quiet, eerily calm.

Cs: Přikrývka sněhu zahalila domy do bílé a jediným zvukem byla lehká melodie větru šeptajícího mezi stromy.
En: A blanket of snow enveloped the houses in white, and the only sound was the gentle melody of the wind whispering among the trees.

Cs: Vesnice poblíž Krkonoš spala, ale jedno místo nemělo klid – stará kaple na vrcholu kopce.
En: The village near the Krkonoš slept, but one place was not at peace – the old chapel on the hilltop.

Cs: Večer co večer o půlnoci zazvonil zvon v kapli.
En: Every night at midnight, the chapel's bell rang.

Cs: Žádný člověk tam nebyl a žádný důvod nebyl zřejmý.
En: No person was there, and no reason was apparent.

Cs: Všichni ve vesnici věřili, že to je dílo duchů.

Cs: Lucie řekla: "Jakube, je to duch!
En: Lucie said, "Jakube, it's a ghost!
