Cs: Karel stál uprostřed Karlova mostu a díval se na Vltavu.
En: Karel stood in the middle of Karlův most and looked at the Vltava River.

Cs: Jaro bylo ve vzduchu.
En: Spring was in the air.

Cs: Po dlouhé zimě se Praha znovu probouzela.
En: After a long winter, Praha was waking up once more.

Cs: Kolem něj chodili turisté, někteří obdivovali starobylé sochy, jiní fotili nádherný výhled na Hradčany.
En: Tourists walked around him, some admired the ancient statues, others took photos of the beautiful view of Hradčany.

Cs: Ale Karel myslel jen na jedno – na svoji sestru Lucii.
En: But Karel thought of only one thing – his sister Lucie.

Cs: Bylo to už dlouho, co spolu nemluvili.
En: It had been a long time since they spoke.

Cs: On byl starší bratr, vždycky více odpovědný.
En: He was the older brother, always more responsible.

Cs: Ale také tvrdohlavý.
En: But also stubborn.

Cs: Lucie zase snadno zrazená, ale měla dobré srdce.
En: Lucie, on the other hand, was easily hurt but had a good heart.

Cs: Rozdělily je staré spory a nevyřešené hádky.
En: They had been divided by old disputes and unresolved arguments.

Cs: Dnes tady stáli na prahu možnosti začít znovu.
En: Today, they stood on the threshold of a chance to start anew.

Cs: Karel poslal Lucii zprávu, že ji chce potkat na mostě.
En: Karel sent Lucie a message that he wanted to meet her on the bridge.

Cs: Doufal, že přijde.
En: He hoped she would come.

Cs: A ona přišla.
En: And she did.

Cs: Karel ji viděl z dálky, jak přichází po dlážděné cestě.
En: Karel saw her from afar, walking along the cobbled path.

Cs: Měla na sobě jarní kabát a jemně se na něj usmála, když se přiblížila.
En: She was wearing a spring coat and smiled gently at him as she got closer.

Cs: "Ahoj, Karel," řekla Lucie tiše, když stála u něj.
En: "Hi, Karel," Lucie said quietly when she stood beside him.

Cs: Její hlas měl v sobě směs pochybností a naděje.
En: Her voice carried a mix of doubt and hope.

Cs: "Ahoj, Lucie," odpověděl Karel a zhluboka se nadechl.
En: "Hi, Lucie," Karel replied, taking a deep breath.

Cs: "Jsem rád, že jsi přišla."
En: "I'm glad you came."

Cs: Chvíli stáli vedle sebe a mlčeli.
En: They stood side by side, silent for a moment.

Cs: Vítr jemně foukal a slunce začínalo pomalu zapadat.
En: The wind blew gently, and the sun began to set slowly.

Cs: Karel nevěděl, jak začít.
En: Karel didn't know how to start.

Cs: Pak se nadechl a řekl: "Chci se ti omluvit za všechno, co se stalo.
En: Then he took a breath and said, "I want to apologize for everything that happened.

Cs: Chci, abychom byli zase rodina."
En: I want us to be family again."

Cs: Lucie chvíli mlčela, jako by se snažila rozhodnout, co říct.
En: Lucie was silent for a moment, as if deciding what to say.

Cs: "Taky mi chybíš," přiznala nakonec.
En: "I miss you too," she finally admitted.

Cs: "Ale bylo to všechno tak těžké."
En: "But it was all so hard."

Cs: "Vím," řekl Karel.
En: "I know," Karel said.

Cs: "O tom všem jsem přemýšlel.
En: "I've been thinking about it all.

Cs: Měl jsem být lepší bratr."
En: I should have been a better brother."

Cs: "Já jsem taky mohla být lepší...
