Cs: Šumava les, plný tajemství, se probouzel do jara.
En: The Šumava forest, full of mysteries, was awakening to spring.

Cs: Stromy se začínaly zelenat, první květiny si prorážely cestu mezi suchými větvemi.
En: The trees were beginning to green, and the first flowers were pushing their way through the dry branches.

Cs: Bylo Velikonoce, a tak se Ludmila a Václav rozhodli oslavit tento svátek v srdci přírody.
En: It was Easter, so Ludmila and Václav decided to celebrate this holiday in the heart of nature.

Cs: Ludmila byla plná nadšení.
En: Ludmila was full of enthusiasm.

Cs: "Velikonoční piknik v lese je skvělý nápad," opakovala stále dokola.
En: "An Easter picnic in the forest is a great idea," she repeated over and over.

Cs: Měla vše připraveno: krásné malované vajíčka, sladké mazance a proutěný košík.
En: She had everything prepared: beautiful painted eggs, sweet mazance cakes, and a wicker basket.

Cs: Václav se těšil, ale počasí sledoval s obavami.
En: Václav was looking forward to it, but he watched the weather with concern.

Cs: "Ludmilo, co když nás překvapí sníh?"
En: "Ludmila, what if we're surprised by snow?"

Cs: zeptal se.
En: he asked.

Cs: Ráno Velikonoc začalo sluníčkem, ale než se dostali do poloviny cesty, začala padat hustá vločka za vločkou.
En: Easter morning began with sunshine, but before they got halfway, thick flakes began to fall one after the other.

Cs: "Neměli bychom se obrátit?"
En: "Shouldn't we turn back?"

Cs: navrhl Václav, když sníh pokryl cestu bílou peřinou.
En: suggested Václav when snow covered the path with a white blanket.

Cs: Ludmila však nechtěla ustoupit.
En: However, Ludmila didn't want to give in.

Cs: "Snad to nebude tak zlé," usmála se na něj optimisticky.
En: "Hopefully, it won't be that bad," she smiled at him optimistically.

Cs: Šli dál, až dorazili na širokou louku.
En: They continued until they reached a wide meadow.

Cs: Místo zeleně je vítaly sněhové závěje.
En: Instead of greenery, they were greeted by snow drifts.

Cs: "Vidíš," poznamenal Václav, "říkal jsem ti, že to není rozumné."
En: "See," remarked Václav, "I told you it wasn't wise."

Cs: Ale Ludmila už hledala způsob, jak piknik i přesto uskutečnit.
En: But Ludmila was already looking for a way to have the picnic despite everything.

Cs: Nakonec našli chráněné místo pod rozložitým smrkem.
En: They eventually found a sheltered spot under a sprawling spruce.

Cs: Sníh zde nebyl tak hustý a větve stromu skýtaly potřebnou ochranu.
En: The snow wasn't as dense there, and the tree branches provided the necessary protection.

Cs: Václav pomohl Ludmile urovnat deku a připravit jídlo.
En: Václav helped Ludmila lay out the blanket and prepare the food.

Cs: Přestože sníh padal, vzduch byl tichý a krásný.
En: Even though the snow was falling, the air was quiet and beautiful.

Cs: "Tohle je opravdu zvláštní Velikonoce," řekl Václav, když se podělil o kousek mazance.
En: "This is truly a special Easter," said Václav as he shared a piece of mazance.

Cs: Lodmila přikývla.
En: Ludmila nodded in agreement.
