Cs: Karelovo náměstí se třpytilo v letním slunci.
En: Karelovo náměstí sparkled in the summer sun.

Cs: Všude kolem visely barevné vlajky a stánky nabízely sladkosti i ruční výrobky.
En: Everywhere, colorful flags hung, and stalls offered sweets and handmade items.

Cs: Atmosféra byla radostná a Jiri, též veselý, sledoval své přátele, Kláru a Marka.
En: The atmosphere was joyful, and Jiri, also cheerful, watched his friends, Klára and Marek.

Cs: Oni zdáli se být součástí něčeho víc, něčeho tradičního.
En: They seemed to be part of something more, something traditional.

Cs: Jiri byl muž moderní doby.
En: Jiri was a man of modern times.

Cs: Pracoval s počítači, nosil oblek a do práce chodil autem.

Cs: “Pojď, snad ti dodáme kuráže!” Smál se, ukazujíc na taneční parket.
En: “Come on, maybe we'll give you some courage!” He laughed, pointing to the dance floor.

Cs: Jiri se bál a byl nesvůj.
En: Jiri was afraid and uneasy.

Cs: Neuměl kroky a bál se, že bude vypadat hloupě.
En: He didn’t know the steps and feared he’d look foolish.

Cs: Ale když Klára k němu natáhla ruku, najednou si uvědomil, že na tom nezáleží.
En: But when Klára extended her hand to him, he suddenly realized it didn’t matter.

Cs: Byla to příležitost, kterou nemohl odmítnout.
En: It was an opportunity he couldn’t refuse.

Cs: S malým úsměvem přijal pozvání.
