Cs: V letním odpoledni na Staroměstském náměstí v Praze byl vzduch naplněn vůní zmrzliny a smíchem turistů.
En: On a summer afternoon in Staroměstské náměstí in Praha, the air was filled with the scent of ice cream and the laughter of tourists.

Cs: Slunce zářilo na barokními budovami, zatímco davy lidí pozorovaly slavný orloj.
En: The sun shone on the baroque buildings while crowds of people watched the famous astronomical clock, the orloj.

Cs: Tereza, nadšená fotografka, šla uprostřed náměstí s kuželem zmrzliny v ruce, oči upřené na hledáček svého fotoaparátu.

Cs: Tereza rychle schovala foťák a s hněvem i humorem v očích se obrátila na Lukáše a Jirku.
En: Tereza quickly put away her camera and turned to Lukáš and Jirka with anger and humor in her eyes.

Cs: "Pomozte mi ho chytit!
En: "Help me catch it!

Cs: To musí být příběh!"
En: This has to be a story!"

Cs: Lukáš pokrčil rameny s úsměvem.
En: Lukáš shrugged with a smile.

Cs: "Můžu ti koupit novou."
En: "I can buy you a new one."

Cs: "Ne!
En: "No!

Cs: Chci tuhle zpátky.
En: I want that one back.

Cs: Chci," rozhodla Tereza odhodlaně.
En: I want it," Tereza decided determinedly.

Cs: Jirka a Lukáš se přidali do honičky.
En: Jirka and Lukáš joined the chase.

Cs: Holub se vznášel nad nimi jako malý letoun.
En: The pigeon hovered above them like a small aircraft.

Cs: Lidí kolem bylo jako moře a každý pohyb byl jako vlnka.
En: The people around were like a sea, and every movement like a wave.

Cs: Tereza poskakovala ve snaze udržet oči na ptákovi, zatímco Jirka, soutěživý jak jen mohl být, hledal možnosti, jak ho přelstít.
