Cs: Jirka stál před bílou budovou.
En: Jirka stood in front of the white building.

Cs: Psychiatrii už navštěvoval několik týdnů.
En: He had been visiting psychiatry for several weeks.

Cs: Tento den ale měl zvláštní význam.
En: But this day had special significance.

Cs: První máj.
En: May Day.

Cs: Měl u sebe malou kytičku konvalinek.
En: He had a small bunch of lilies of the valley with him.

Cs: Květiny, které Marta vždy milovala.
En: Flowers that Marta always loved.

Cs: Vešel dovnitř a zamířil k pokoji své sestry.
En: He entered and headed to his sister's room.

Cs: Vše bylo bílé a chladné.
En: Everything was white and cold.

Cs: Ale jedno okno v Marťině pokoji zkrášloval pohled na rozkvetlou zahradu.

Cs: Marta seděla na posteli a dívala se ven.

Cs: "Ahoj, Marťo," řekl Jirka tiše.
En: "Hi, Marťo," Jirka said quietly.

Cs: Marta se otočila a pousmála.
En: Marta turned and smiled.

Cs: "Ahoj, Jirko."
En: "Hi, Jirko."

Cs: Měla unavený, ale přívětivý výraz.
En: She had a tired but kind expression.

Cs: Jirka si sedl na židli vedle postele.
En: Jirka sat on the chair next to the bed.

Cs: "Přinesl jsem ti květiny," řekl a položil kytičku na stůl.
En: "I brought you flowers," he said and placed the bouquet on the table.

Cs: Marta se na ně podívala a pohladila je prsty.
En: Marta looked at them and caressed them with her fingers.

Cs: "Děkuji, jsou krásné."
En: "Thank you, they are beautiful."

Cs: Chtěl ji povzbudit.
En: He wanted to encourage her.

Cs: Vyprávěl jí o společných výletech, o tom, jak sbírali jahody u babičky na zahradě, jak se smáli špatnému počasí na školních výletech.
En: He told her about their trips together, about how they picked strawberries at grandma's garden, how they laughed off bad weather on school trips.

Cs: "Pamatuješ, jak jsme jednou skákali do louží?" zeptal se; Marta přikývla, když se jí na tváři mihnul úsměv.
En: "Do you remember how we once jumped into puddles?" he asked; Marta nodded, a smile flashing across her face.

Cs: Jirka viděl, že Marta poslouchá, ale oči měla stále plné úzkosti.
En: Jirka could see that Marta was listening, but her eyes were still full of anxiety.

Cs: "Nemůžu ven," zašeptala najednou a její dech se zrychlil.
En: "I can't go outside," she suddenly whispered, and her breath quickened.

Cs: "Je to hrozné, nikdy to nezvládnu."
En: "It's terrible, I'll never manage."

Cs: Jirka ztěžka polknul.
En: Jirka swallowed hard.

Cs: Viděl útok úzkosti, přicházel jako vlna.
En: He saw the anxiety attack coming like a wave.

Cs: Rychle jí podal ruku.
En: He quickly took her hand.

Cs: "Marťo, zhluboka dýchej. Pomůžu ti."
En: "Marťo, breathe deeply. I'll help you."

Cs: Vzal její ruku a dýchal s ní hluboce, pomalu naladěn na její dech.
En: He took her hand and breathed deeply, slowly attuning to her breath.

Cs: Po několika minutách se její dech zpomalil.
En: After a few minutes, her breathing slowed.

Cs: Marta cítila, jak se úzkost pomalu rozpouští.
En: Marta felt the anxiety slowly dissolve.
