Uk: Карпати восени були неймовірні.
En: The Karpaty in the autumn were incredible.

Uk: Листя з дерев посипалося золотом, а в повітрі вже пахло зимовим холодом.
En: Leaves from the trees dusted the ground like gold, and the air already smelled of winter's chill.

Uk: Група школярів приїхала на екскурсію у цей чарівний куточок України.
En: A group of students visited this enchanting corner of Ukrajiny on a field trip.

Uk: І серед них були Оксана, Богдан і новенька Катерина.
En: Among them were Oksana, Bohdan, and the new girl, Kateryna.

Uk: Оксана була завжди в авангарді пригод.
En: Oksana was always at the forefront of adventures.

Uk: Вона любила місцеві легенди і хотіла дізнатися більше про таємничу печеру, в якій, за переказами, приховані старовинні секрети.
En: She loved local legends and wanted to learn more about the mysterious cave, which, according to the legends, hid ancient secrets.

Uk: Проте учителі наполягали на безпеці і стримували учнів в межах встановлених маршрутів.

Uk: Катерина тихо підійшла ближче.
En: Kateryna quietly approached.

Uk: "Я чула про ту печеру, — сказала вона, — це місце не для слабких духом."
En: "I've heard about that cave," she said.

Uk: Богдан, їхній товариш, кивнув, проте сказав: "Може, краще залишитися з групою?"
En: Bohdan, their friend, nodded but said, "Maybe it’s better to stay with the group?"

Uk: Перевага у тому, що вони знайшли момент, коли всі були зайняті обідом.
En: They found a moment when everyone was busy with lunch.

Uk: Швидко сховавшись за деревам, вони рушили в бік, де, за легендою, має бути печера.
En: Quickly sneaking behind the trees, they set off in the direction where, according to legend, the cave should be.

Uk: Дорога була вузькою і місцями стрімкою.
En: The path was narrow and steep in places.

Uk: Вони переплигували через каміння і чули, як під ногами хрустять сухі листочки.
En: They leapt over rocks and heard the crunch of dry leaves underfoot.

Uk: Нарешті перед ними відчинився вхід до печери.
En: Finally, the entrance to the cave opened before them.

Uk: Вона виглядала знайомо – немов з книжкової ілюстрації.
