Uk: У променях весняного сонця, що пробивалися крізь густі крони дерев лісу Прип’яті, Оксана розстилала скатертину.
En: In the rays of spring sunshine breaking through the dense canopies of ліс Prypiat woods, Oksana was laying out a tablecloth.

Uk: Її веселі очі сяяли, коли вона представила собі ідеальний барбекю-пікнік.
En: Her cheerful eyes sparkled as she imagined the perfect barbecue picnic.

Uk: Тут, серед зелені та співу птахів, вона задумала вечірку для друзів.
En: Here, among the greenery and birdsong, she envisioned a party for her friends.

Uk: Богдан та Наталія ось-ось прибудуть, а їй лишалося лише запалити гриль.
En: Bogdan and Natalia were about to arrive, and all she had left to do was light the grill.

Uk: Ставши під деревом, Оксана витягнула коробку з сірниками з рюкзака.
En: Standing under a tree, Oksana pulled a box of matches from her backpack.

Uk: Але не встигла вона запалити й першого сірничка, як з гілки несподівано спустилася білка і спритно вихопила коробку.
En: But before she could even strike the first match, a squirrel unexpectedly descended from a branch and nimbly seized the box.

Uk: "Ой, ну що за день!" — вигукнула Оксана, намагаючись зупинити нахабну тваринку.
En: "Oh, what a day!" she exclaimed, trying to stop the impudent little creature.

Uk: Білка, вії якої весело блищали, швиденько сховалася за кущ.
En: The squirrel, whose lashes gleamed mischievously, quickly hid behind a bush.

Uk: Оксана спробувала наздогнати її, але натомість ладонька пусткою зісковзнула по молоденькому стовбурі.
En: Oksana tried to catch it, but instead, her hand slipped empty down the young trunk.

Uk: Бігти чи не бігти?
En: To chase or not to chase?

Uk: Питання змусило Оксану замислитися.
En: The question made Oksana pause to think.

Uk: Вона знала, що втрачати час недоцільно.
En: She knew it was pointless to lose time.

Uk: Але без сірників, як вона запалить гриль?
En: But without matches, how would she light the grill?

Uk: Погляд Оксани впав на невеличку галявину, де лежали сухе листя та гілочки.
En: Oksana's gaze fell on a small clearing where dry leaves and twigs lay.

Uk: "Випадковість чи щаслива нагода?" — міркувала вона та почала збирати все потрібне для вогнища.
En: "Coincidence or a stroke of luck?" she pondered and began gathering everything needed for a fire.

Uk: Біля гриля натовпчувався Богдан.
En: By the grill, Bogdan was hovering.

Uk: “Що робити, Оксано?” — запитав він, погладжуючи підборіддя.
En: "What should we do, Oksana?" he asked, stroking his chin.

Uk: Наталія ж вже не могла дочекатися тих смачних ароматів, які обіцяла Оксана.
En: Meanwhile, Natalia could hardly wait for the delicious aromas Oksana had promised.

Uk: "Погляньте," — промовила Оксана, запалюючи вогонь за допомогою природного матеріалу.
En: "Look," said Oksana, lighting a fire using natural materials.

Uk: Вогник розгорівся, танцюючи жваво на весняному вітерці.
En: The flame ignited, dancing briskly in the spring breeze.

Uk: Богдан і Наталія вигукнули захоплено, коли з гриля потяглися перші пахощі м’яса.
En: Bogdan and Natalia exclaimed in delight as the first whiffs of meat wafted from the grill.

Uk: Веселий сміх долинав по галявині, коли друзі зібралися за столом.
