Story Transcript:

Uk: Сніг сипав мовчазно на місто, покриваючи все навколо білою ковдрою, коли Оксана ступила на землю зони відчуження.
En: The snow silently fell on the city, covering everything around in a white blanket, as Oksana stepped onto the ground of the exclusion zone.

Uk: Віктор, їхній гід, махнув рукою, запрошуючи почати екскурсію.
En: Viktor, their guide, waved his hand, inviting them to start the tour.

Uk: Михайло, колишній мешканець Прип'яті, мовчки йшов позаду, тримаючи руки в кишенях пальта.
En: Mykhailo, a former resident of Prypiat, walked silently behind, keeping his hands in the pockets of his coat.

Uk: Ліс здавався сумним, голі дерева наче охороняли місто-примару.
En: The forest seemed sad, the bare trees appeared to guard the ghost town.

Uk: "Це місце як музей під відкритим небом," - промовив Віктор, з любов'ю дивлячись на Прилп'ять.
En: "This place is like an open-air museum," said Viktor, looking lovingly at Prypiat.

Uk: І саме тут, перед колесом, яке накривав легкий шар снігу, Михайло зупинився.
En: And right here, in front of the wheel covered with a light layer of snow, Mykhailo stopped.

Uk: Він дивився на нього з довгою мовчанкою.
En: He looked at it with a long silence.

Uk: Оксана чекала, розуміючи, що важливий момент наближається.
En: Oksana waited, understanding that an important moment was approaching.

Uk: "Пам'ятаю, того дня ми з друзями гуляли тут," - тихо почав він, не відриваючи погляду від колеса спогадів.
En: "I remember that day, we were walking here with friends," he quietly began, not taking his eyes off the wheel of memories.

Uk: "Говорили про майбутнє, про те, як збиратимемось тут.
En: "We talked about the future, how we would gather here.

Uk: Але ніхто не думав, що це катастрофа..."
En: But no one thought it would be a catastrophe..."

Uk: Його голос зрадив його.
En: His voice betrayed him.

Uk: Він розповідав, як його село було евакуйоване, як довго вони залишали в домівках все, що мали.
En: He recounted how his village was evacuated, how long they left everything they had in their homes.

Uk: Сльози блищали в його очах, коли він закінчував історію.
En: Tears glistened in his eyes as he finished his story.
