Story Transcript:

He: בוקר חורפי וגשום התפרץ בשכונה השקטה בדרום תל אביב.
En: A wintery and rainy morning broke out in the quiet neighborhood in the south of Tel Aviv.

He: צלילי הגשם התנגן במוזיקה מתמשכת על הגגות, וריח האוויר הקריר הביא איתו תחושת סודניות.
En: The sound of the rain played in continuous music on the roofs, and the scent of the cool air carried with it a sense of secrecy.

He: אבי, ילד בן 12 עם תלתלים פרועים ועיניים סקרניות, הביט מהחלון למרחק.
En: Avi, a 12-year-old boy with wild curls and curious eyes, gazed out the window into the distance.

He: "תראו את הבית הישן ההוא," הוא לחש לעצמו.
En: "Look at that old house," he whispered to himself.

He: "הוא שוב מואר!"
En: "It's lit up again!"

He: תמיד היה משהו מוזר בבית הנטוש בסוף הרחוב.
En: There was always something strange about the abandoned house at the end of the street.

He: היה בו אור מוזר, זוהר בלילות חנוכה הקרים.
En: It had a peculiar light, glowing on the cold nights of Hanukkah.

He: אף אחד לא ידע מי או מה מאיר שם.
En: No one knew who or what illuminated it.

He: נֹעה, שעימד אודות לשכור מטריה ולשלוף ממנה את טיפותיה, נעמדה לידו.
En: Noa, who stood soaking up drops after renting an umbrella, stood beside him.

He: "מה אתה עושה, אבי?" שאלה בקול שקט.
En: "What are you doing, Avi?" she asked in a quiet voice.

He: "אני חייב לגלות מה מסתתר שם," אמר אבי בהתלהבות.
En: "I have to find out what's hidden there," Avi said excitedly.

He: "למה אתה רוצה להסתבך בצרות?" התנגדה נֹעה, שקטה אבל תמיד עוקבת.
En: "Why do you want to get into trouble?" Noa objected, quiet but always observant.

He: הלילה הגיע.
En: Night fell.

He: דרך חלונות ביתם, הצללים של נרות החנוכה ריקדו על הקירות, מזכירים את האור החם שבחוץ.
En: Through their home's windows, the shadows of the Hanukkah candles danced on the walls, reminiscent of the warm light outside.

He: הורי אבי כבר סיפרו לו מספיק פעמים על הבית והאיסור להתקרב אליו, אבל הסקרנות שלו ניצחה.
En: Avi's parents had told him enough times about the house and the prohibition against approaching it, but his curiosity prevailed.

He: "זה עכשיו או לעולם לא," לחש אבי בטון נחוש, מביט בנֹעה בעיניים נוצצות.
En: "It's now or never," whispered Avi with determination, looking at Noa with sparkling eyes.

En: In the dark, they snuck through the shadows, crossing the familiar street toward the mysterious house.

He: השער היה ישן וחרק קלות כשהם נכנסו לחצר.
En: The gate was old and creaked slightly as they entered the yard.

He: גן פראי נשאר סובב אותם בדרכם אל הדלת.
En: A wild garden surrounded them as they made their way to the door.

He: בתוך הבית היה חשוך וקר.
En: Inside the house, it was dark and cold.

He: אבל, אז ראו את האור - מנורה קטנה, מסתובבת כמו כוכב שבתוך המטבח הנטוש.
En: But then they saw the light—a small lamp, spinning like a star within the abandoned kitchen.

He: הם התקרבו בזהירות, ולפתע נֹעה נגעה בכתפו של אבי והצביעה.
