Ca: La Júlia estava sola al seu petit apartament a Barcelona.
En: Júlia was alone in her small apartment in Barcelona.

Ca: Les finestres deixaven entrar el fred de l'hivern, i per això preferia enrotllar-se en una manta al sofà.
En: The windows let in the winter cold, which is why she preferred to wrap herself in a blanket on the sofa.

Ca: Feia setmanes que la seva mare, la Clara, estava a l'hospital, i la distància amb el seu germà Pau, a Buenos Aires, semblava insuperable.
En: It had been weeks since her mother, Clara, was in the hospital, and the distance with her brother Pau, in Buenos Aires, seemed insurmountable.

Ca: L'ambient a casa de la Júlia era tranquil, però pesat.
