A PANEL DISCUSSION ON TOPICS THAT MATTER

Jennifer Bell
hosts a panel of guests discsssing topics that matter from points of expertise.
Jennifer is a Certified Athletic Therapist for the past 15 years and is currently pursuing her Masters in Human Kinetics.  She currently serves as the Head Athletic Therapist at The Hill Academy and is a busy Mom to three young children.

Kristin Bignell  is a Registered Physical Therapist, Neurofunctional Sports Performance Practitioner and Neurofunctional Acupuncture Provider with a special interest in working with female volleyball players. 
TOPIC: Female athlete development; the importance of education and holistic wellness programs and the major changes that occur (physically, physiologically and cognitively) through development

Cassie Hay has an Advanced Diploma from Algonquin College in Massage Therapy. Born and raised in Ottawa, ON, she has been involved in the athletic industry for several years; as an athlete, a coach, a personal trainer, a medic and as a therapist. She is also actively engaged as a firefighter in the Ottawa region.
TOPIC: The misconception that women are weak or unable to perform in the first responder jobs. Providing accessible training and rehab to those in roles as first responders in order to enhance job proficiencies. The misconception that women are weak or unable to perform in these roles. 

Ella Matteucci is a dual-sport athlete, as a Team Canada Baseball Player and a Professional Women's Hockey Players' Association Player and is a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and an advocate for gender equity. As female Baseball and Women's Professional Hockey does not provide a living wage, she holds a full-time position in communications and is currently studying to pursue a career in fire fighting. She also actively volunteers to support diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
TOPIC: Gender parity and equity in professional athletics. Creating opportunity and inclusion for trans, non-binary and all humans in business and athletics. 

Ryan Metzger is in her second year as the Senior Assistant of Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning at Clemson University. She is directly responsible for the strength and conditioning efforts of softball and women’s soccer as well as having direct oversight of all volunteer interns. She has earned a Masters of Science from the University of Kentucky and holds CSCS and RSCA designations through the NSCA.
TOPIC: Women as leaders. Leadership and communication strategies through the S&C lens. 

Alexandra Poletto is a professional beach volleyball athlete. She competed for Colorado State University where she completed an undergraduate degree and then moved on to USC. With a competitive goal to represent Canada in the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games, Alex continues to train at the highest level. She earned her Masters degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and is an advocate for younger athletes.
TOPIC: Experiences from a pro athlete; guiding athletes to foster a mindset of internal validation.

Micaela Zettel is a registered physiotherapist and neurofunctional sports performance practitioner. Her clinical practice, Instil Physio, focuses on working with female athletes at all ages and stages supporting them
