1. Lack of understanding of the role/position of a Fire Fighter

Of the actual role or job of a fire fighter. They don’t understand what a fire fighter does on a day to day basis and what it is that they’re looking for. It would be fair to say that you really need to have a good understanding of the job that you’re applying to no matter what industry you are in.

1. Lack of understanding of the organisation that you’re applying to

MFB, NSFR, Q, WA – they don’t understand the organisation they are applying to enough so they can’t articulate their understanding of the organisation to applying to. It would be fair enough to assume that a potential employee might have a bit of an understanding of the organisation that they’re applying to get a job with for the next 10-20.30 years.

1. Lack of understanding of their own strengths and attributes

You might understand what you’re good at and what you’re not good at, but when put on the spot, you’re not able to articulate enough to the recruitment team.

They’re not prepared enough for the test they are going to face throughout the process. That comes down to figuring out what’s in front of you and making sure you’re as well prepared as possible.
