Chapter 9 - Therapy Changed My Life

In Chapter 9, I talk about how therapy completely changed my life. When I figured out that my dad is a narcissist with sociopathic tendencies I thought to myself "Shit, I need therapy.". One of the best realizations I could have had, to be honest, because it changed my life.

I talk about how I started seeing Jen because of my dad but talked more about my relationship and myself for the majority of my sessions with her. Dan and I weren't doing well and I was trying everything I possibly could to keep up together. I googled everything that I could think of, astrology, personality tests, love languages, how to be intimate, how to make someone fall in love with you, etc, etc. 

When I learned to observe my thoughts, that's when things really started to change within myself. I haven't talked about this yet, but I'll let you in on a little secret...when I focused inwards, that's when everything changed. When I started loving myself, speaking up, standing my ground, learning, growing, changing habits, challenging beliefs, reframing my mind stories that is when everything changed.
