Monica Bijoux is an amazing example of the power of one person taking a stand for you and how that often ends up changing the course of your life. She grew up in a very difficult environment. Her mom kicked her out when she was 15 so she went to live with her father who only had a first-grade education. Even though had not completed school, he knew he needed to give his daughter what he didn’t have, so she went to live with him and went to a new school that nurtured her brilliance and brought her to the understanding that she was smart and could do great things. 

In spite of getting pregnant at 16 and having a baby at 17, Monica went to college to prove to her daughter that she could become someone special. At a young age Monica knew that other people didn’t get to define who you are.

In this episode, we talk about resilience and the power of someone else believing in you. In fact, Monica has taken this into her career as both a therapist working with trauma in the military and with her business coaching clients.
