'Pilots To The Rescue' founder Michael Schneider

Michael Schneider is the founder of ‘Pilots To The Rescue. Since 2014, Michael has been rescuing homeless pets like these two adorable pups, who came from the Friends of Grenada Animal Shelter in
Mississippi. In this collaborative mission with the Bissell Pet Foundation, Michael picked up 10 dogs in Fletcher, North Carolina, and flew them back to our home base of Essex County Airport in northern New Jersey. The dogs were then received by the Broome County Humane Society in Binghamton, New York.

Every year, approximately 920,000 homeless pets (390,000 dogs and 530,000 cats) are euthanized in the United States, primarily because of a lack of space. Pilots To The Rescue coordinates with rescue facilities all over the U.S. to find space for dogs and cats abandoned or returned to animal shelters by their previous owners. By transporting pets to available shelters by air, we put them in a position to quickly find new homes and loving families.

Pilots To The Rescue (PTTR) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven, 501c3 public benefit aviation organization. Our mission is to prevent homeless pets from being euthanized and give them the best possible chance at a better life.
