The guest on episode 34 of Feel Free to Deviate is Justin Baum. He is the VP of Product at a software company called LeaseUp. He’s also a designer and a user experience guru. He probably won’t like that I called him a guru, but that’s too bad…
He’s a very knowledgeable guy who digs deep into the philosophy surrounding the tech industry. I have always admired his technical skills, but also his uncanny ability to find an actual career path at an early age. He’s a sort of a wunderkind, who rocketed to early success, experienced some bumps along the way, and then reinvented himself on a different coast. We talk about the tech industry, image generation, and a bunch of other stuff. I’m hoping he’ll come back sometime so we can follow up on some of the many topics we started talking about.

  • Topics include:
  • The pleasures and pains of a rapid rise in the tech industry
  • the tech industry in general
  • Startup culture
  • Web 2.0!
  • Flat brim New Era
  • The perils of constant growth/the effects of constant growth on innovation
  • Toxic work environments
  • Sociopathic tech bros
  • What is “Product”
  • AI generated art
  • SO MUCH MORE!

Check out Justin’s company, LeaseUp if you have commercial real estate needs, or if you are curious - https://www.leaseup.co/

That should keep you busy for a little while...
