Welcome to the Creative South Podcast! I’m your host, Jason Frostholm. This past weekend I was in Cleveland for Weapons of Mass Creation, and I had the opportunity to record the podcast live from Vendor Village. I recorded a series of short 15 minute interviews while I was there and at the Dribbble meetup afterward, with some incredibly talented people. So, for the next several weeks we’ll be posting those interviews on Thursdays as bonus episodes. And speaking of WMC fest, my guest this week – Carlos Basabe, was the Emcee of Ink Wars at Weapons of Mass Creation. Carlos is a talented illustrator and designer, who runs his own company, Four Six Six studios, based in Washington DC. We talk about his early life in Havana, Cuba, growing up in Florida, his path to becoming an illustrator and designer and much more, on to the show!

Cotton Bureau is for the designer who wants a no-hassle way to get their tees worn by people and wants to be surrounded by other great designs. All designs are crowdsourced by the Cotton Bureau Community and only the shirts that make the cut get printed. And best of all is this isn’t a contest, Cotton bureau split all of the profits with the designers. you don’t need to worry about the printing, shipping or logistics of it all, you can just put up the tee and tell everyone you know to go and buy one.

Plus, if you’re looking for a great shirt, and you love BBQ check out Low and Slow by Creative South co-founder, Mike Jones! The gorgeous design reminds you that BBQ is not grilling, BBQ is a way of life. Low and Slow is how we cook meat in a special way. The pig is the "Que". This shirt is perfect for all you BBQ lovers out there! So head over to Cotton Bureau or click the link in the show notes to get the Low & Slow shirt, hug some necks & break bread with folks!
