Happy People Get To... Not Have To - Secrets Happy People Know

This is the second of a five week series titled, Secrets Happy People Know.  Everyone wants to be happy, but why is happiness so elusive? It can be so easy to find, but difficult to hold on to. While there is no silver bullet that will lead to a lifetime of happiness, we have found that there are a few secrets happy people know. This second week we listen to Pastor Chris Williams explore the idea that Happy People Get To… Not Have To.

Discussion Questions

1. In general, which do you find yourself doing more of; “Get To” Gratitude or “Have To” Complaints? Why?
2. Read aloud 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. What words stand out to you the most and why?
3. When was the last time you truly “rejoiced”? Why do you think that brought you so much joy?
4. What is one “Have To” complaint in your lie that you can turn into a “Get To” gratitude statement right now?

Covid 19 Restrictions

1. If you’re not feeling well, please wait to attend on campus until you’re fully healthy.
2. We have two on-campus Sunday services: 9:30 and 11am (Our 11:00am service is live online on our Facebook Page and YouTube Channel)
3. All ages are welcome in the auditorium. We provide kids and middle school ministries at our 11:00am service and starting October 18th, childcare will be provided at both services! High school ministry meets Sundays at 6:00pm on-campus.
4. Facial coverings will be required per the current state health order. We’ll encourage general social distancing by minimizing some common touchpoints, providing hand sanitizer, and offering some increased spacing in seating areas. (During this time, bring your own java…we know it’s a bummer, but it won’t be forever!)
