On a quiet Sunday night in 1987, Chicago’s airwaves were suddenly hijacked by a masked figure who spoke in static and riddles. Two major TV stations were overtaken without warning, their signals replaced by a distorted parody of Max Headroom and a message no one could quite understand. The broadcast lasted less than two minutes, and whoever was behind it was never found.
