Lori’s Beginning

• Started on the traditional track, became sick and depressed
• Started working at a Christian Radio Station allowing more flexibility and diversity
• Didn’t think she could have children-surprise!
• Homeschooling

Taking control of her own Story

• Vision drives decision
• Caught a vision teaching experiences
• She wanted her children to be similar to the ones she taught
• Loved the idea of having driven kids
• What are you doing now to pursue your passions?
• Lori reads lots of books with her children and doesn’t own a TV
• Seeing what’s possible and seeing how they did it

It IS possible

• Habits can be difficult to develop these healthy habits
• You have to be willing to give yourself some grace

Balancing work, life, and family

• Mom guilt
• Giving them the opportunity to be bored
• Help your children understand what it’s like to be in your shoes

Attitude of Gratitude

• Having the stuff and opportunity that others don’t have
• Being there for people who are suffering
• Celebrate people who are celebrating
• Serving with an organization
• Habits – at bedtime, 3 things that they are thankful for
• Books help them put themselves in other people’s shoes
• Being mindful of what we are consuming
• We want to become what we see
• See beauty, kindness, love
