Auto-generated transcript:In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the honour of His prophets and messengers.
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and upon his family and his companions.
Peace be upon him, and upon his family and his companions.
And then, my brothers and sisters, we hear this Hadith every Friday,
where the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, is reported to have said,
Indeed, the most truthful Hadith is the Book of Allah, and the best of the Hadith is the Hadith of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and upon his family and his companions.
The evil of matters is their events,
and every event is a misguidance, and every misguidance is a misguidance, and every misguidance is a misguidance in the Fire.
We hear this Hadith in every Friday,
where the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, has stated that the best speech is the speech, is the Book of Allah,
and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and upon his family and his companions.
And then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, has said,
Every new thing that is introduced into Islam is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire, in the Hellfire.
So what is Bida? Because many times people say many things, and recently people ask me about, normally nowadays people say Jummah Mubarak.
I change my mind.
I change my mind.
I change my mind.
I think the South Africans started this, if I'm not mistaken, Jummah Mubarak.
So somebody said, well, Jummah Mubarak is Bida.
And so on other things, celebrating a birthday, child's birthday, this is Bida, and so forth.
So what is Bida? It's very important to understand this because it's a matter of Aqeedah.
What is Bida?
There are two fundamental principles of Islam.
The first fundamental principle of Islam is that this Deen is complete.
That Allah, Subhanahu wa ta'ala, completed this Deen.
And the Dhalil for that, the evidence for that is the Kitab of Allah.
Allah, Subhanahu wa ta'ala, said,
Al-Yawma aqmaltu lakum Deenam wa a'tmamtu alaykum ni'mati wa radeetu lakumul Islamadeena.
Allah, Subhanahu wa ta'ala, said, which means today,
I have completed my blessing on you.
Al-Yawma aqmaltu lakum Deenakum.
I have completed your Deen for you and completed my blessing on you.
Wa a'tmamtu alaykum ni'mati.
The ni'ma is tamam, complete.
Wa a'laykum As-Salaam.
Wa radeetu lakumul Islamadeena.
And I am pleased for you to have Islam as your Deen, as your way of life.
So this is the word of Allah, that this Deen is complete.
There is nothing missing in this Deen.
Then we have the second fundamental principle,
which is in the Khutbatul Wada' of Rasulullah
in his Hajjatul Wada' in his Khutbah.
The Prophet said to the people, he said,
Have I completed and conveyed to you completely,
whatever was revealed to me?
And they said, Ya Rasulullah, yes, you have completed.
And the Prophet raised his finger towards the sky,
he looked up and he said, O Allah, you are the witness.
So we have the Kitab of Allah and the Qawl al-Kareem wa Sharif
of Rasulullah to say that this Deen is complete.
Nothing is missing.
In this context, you must see the Hadith.
Therefore Rasulullah is saying that if somebody is introducing something into the Deen,
then this is misguidance.
Balala wa kulla dhalalateen finnaar
All of these dhalala will be in the fire.
So what is the meaning of introducing into the Deen?
The word Bida'
comes from the word Bada' which is to start something.
And the thing which is started is the Bida'.
For example, the Prophet said, Bada' al-Islami ghareeban
Islam started as something strange.
Wasayahudu kama Bada'
And it will return to how it was when it was started.
And then he said, Fatuba lil ghoraba
He said, give the glad tidings of Tuba, which is a tree in Jannah,
to the people who the world will call the Harai...
