As we come to the end of this series, everything comes back around to the key verse to this series – Genesis 50:19. You see, God cared about Joseph all along and could have stopped the evil from happening to him. Why did God let happen? Joesph has the answer: “You intended harm to me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. “
God always sees the bigger picture, but rarely can we see the forest through the trees. Joseph has the privilege of seeing the bigger picture and sees that he had to go through all this stuff so that he could be in the position he’s in now. God used the evil that Joseph’s did to him for the greater good – so thousands of people could survive. God would choose to raise up Joseph to this position through a dream, and the nation of Israel would be led into Egypt where they would again suffer before finally being introduced to God on a much more personal level. God’s hand was always right where it should be – introducing us to Himself. What better purpose but that?
