Welcome to Episode 9 of F#@% them fish: ADHD for grownups. A big welcome to all our new listeners who have just found our octopus community and a massive hug to all our regular listeners... we love how many of you come back each week and share your stories with us. We love that we can be part of your experience xx
In this episode, we talk about October being ADHD awareness month and where you can find more information. We preview the NEW Australian clinical guidelines for diagnosis and treating ADHD - this is a big deal!! We go deep into why ADHD is not a 'fad' and that we are actually playing catch up for all the people missed - Lauchy wonders whether we will see another change in diagnosis criteria. We also pay a small tribute to the late Angela Lansbury.
We talk all about how music may just be the food of love for ADHD people, and conveniently we are recording today in the bedroom! In the second half of the show, we look into 8D music versus layered music, with a dive into Callie's current obsession - binaural beats and the research that sits behind them. We discuss exactly why music is so important for ADHD and how it can help to stay on track. Music is also important for people with dementia, big shout out to Lauchy's late nan x
