In this episode, we discuss the Ghent Altarpiece that was created in 1432 by two brothers ,Jan van Eyck and Hubert van Eyck. But after being in so many hands throughout history, someone was bound to mistreat it. Berlin museum sawed it in half to and put it on display for the world. Here we will be discussing whether or not this controversial splitting is a mistreatment of a religious piece or if it was a necessary evil to portray the significance of the altarpiece.
