To Bavaria with love, infused with dialect for language nerds

It is best to learn the standard version of a language, but what if you can’t differentiate between what is dialect and standard? In a bizarre twist of events, I speak more German dialect than my daughters even though they were born here. A close look at Munich’s and Germany’s history reveals how this could happen.
