Today, we sit down with Jennifer Green, Director of Competitions and Young Women’s Initiatives for Skills Ontario. Jennifer originally had an interest in Forensic Criminology, but before long found herself completely immersed and enthralled in being an Industrial Mechanic Millwright. This allowed her to be her true self by problem solving, working with her hands, and learning every single day.
She eventually competed in Skills Canada and took home the gold in the provincial competition and the silver in the national competition. She attributes much of her success today to her experiences in the trades and now works hard as an advocate for those looking for similar success.
We talk about the technicalities, the joys, and the transferable skills that are developed by having a career in the trades. Listen to Jennifer talk all about her desire to meet her goals, help others, create physical things and opportunities for others. And how her journey through the trades are allowing her to accomplish it all.
As always, this show is not monetized & we don’t run ads. We rely strictly on the word of mouth from our listeners to further the mission.
