In 2011, a lot of people were still trying to crawl out of the debt that was brought on by the recession of 2007.  Richard Beasley saw this as an opportunity.  He would offer, single men, what some might consider the opportunity of a lifetime! they would be offered a free place to live, and would make $300 a week, and all they would have to do is help out around the farm, just come with all your valuable, and move in, and begin your dream job!  in the Craigs List ad that Richard took out, he even stated "this job will not last"
