In this informal podcast episode, I share updates on some cooking projects including preparing a turkey roulade dish and smoking various cuts of meat. A decent amount of time is spent discussing my curious dog who makes frequent guest appearances and interruptions. I draw parallels between my interest in carefully controlling variables when cooking meat to achieve an ideal internal temperature and texture, and a similar approach when roasting coffee beans. I reflect on how the entire process – from initial idea, to experimentation, to final enjoyment – can be extremely rewarding.Listeners can expect to learn a bit more about my cooking philosophy and techniques. I aim to take an analytical approach and am fascinated by achieving the perfect level of doneness. There is also discussion around effectively utilizing other hobbies or activities one is passionate about as inspiration in their creative efforts. For example, I explain how cooking has informed and enhanced my coffee roasting.
