Well, it finally happened, and I promise it was worth the wait – two-time Army Combat Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Lance Westbrook came by to chat with me! We had a conversation about Rachel Maddow’s book “Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power” and he offered a perspective I couldn’t possibly have provided. • Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America – IAVA is the first and largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans.


• Wounded Warrior Project – To honor and empower wounded warriors, and to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation’s history.


• USO – The USO is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the troops by providing morale, welfare and recreation-type services to our men and women in uniform.


• Final Salute, Inc. – Their mission is to provide homeless female Veterans with safe and suitable housing.
